Don’t mind me. I’m just testing out my new account here on MLG.

Awesome Face herself, Jenn, invited me to come and share some of my geekiness with you. :) I’m flattered and can’t wait!

Office Graffix Stickers

At times I refuse to admit that I’m a grown-up. Those times include getting oil changes, paying taxes and filing for unemployment. Then there are other times when I giggle because someone said “penis,” laugh at the kid who fell and still put Elmer’s glue all over my hand just to peel it off. It’s that level of maturity that still gets me excited about stickers. I’m easy to please people. So imagine my excitement when I found these stickers:

If the Internet were a musical…

Just found this CollegeHumor parody of the Internet set to a West Side Story medley. Twitter, Pandora, eHarmony and Evite are just a few of the sites mentioned.

Web Site Story

I’m not going to lie…Tony can come back to Myspace and Twitter all over my Facebook. (Thanks Threadless.)

iPhone must-haves

Recently I joined the “I have an iPhone” club. I was skeptical at first – still am! As a phone, I don’t think it’s worth the hype. It’s great for incoming/outgoing data – keeping up with blogging, forums, emails, etc. But I think the never-ending list of applications is what makes this phone so great.

Without the app store, I would have returned the iPhone a week ago. I’m amazed by what these app developers are coming up with. If you haven’t had a chance to explore the app store, I highly recommend it. If you’re on the fence about purchasing the phone, check out the apps! There’s something for everyone and I guarantee you’ll make your life simpler by downloading one of them.

I’ve put together a list of my favorite applications that any iPhone user should have.

Do you have any of these apps? If you have one that you think should be on the list, let me know and I will add it with a link to your blog so people can ask you questions about it, should they have some.

Robot Clock

With Daylight Savings Time behind us, what better time (ha!) to buy a new clock? Jazz up your nightstand or desk with Tokibot.

Tokibot, $36, is a robot clock with movable legs and arms. Create a tiny Lego village and he’ll attack it! It comes in your choice of blue or green.

Plush organs make me squee!

How excited am I about Plush Guts? The answer is very!

As an anatomy and physiology fan these plush organs make me giddy. I want to collect them all! Each organ is about 6″-8″ and run between $16-$20. None of the limited edition gold guts for me please. Those looks ugly.

Thank you Geekologie, you’ve made my week!

Mario Kart Wedding Cake

I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about a future wedding (first I need to find a Mister). One thing is for sure though – I need a ridiculously awesome cake like this.

The couple had this to say about their wedding cake:

We were looking for ideas to make our wedding different and our own, a unique wedding cake was one of the things we came up with. My wife suggested the idea of having a video game cake after we saw one online. We wanted a game that we both enjoyed and decided on the game series we have spent the most time playing together.

Coincidentally, the latest Mario Kart game was released on the same weekend of our wedding. This cake was designed with elements from multiple Mario Kart games, as well as a few aspects from other Super Mario Bros. games.

The chocolate decadent cake, filled with chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, ganache, and buttercream, was designed by Beth at Let Them Eat Cake.

Persida Lapsac

Jamie from Oh! How Lovely! showed me a picture of the new laptop bag she bought and I could not resist sharing it with everyone else.

The Perside Lapsac by Nanda Home is genius. The design alone makes it stand out from the boring black nylon cases that you can find in Target. The tote is also big enough to double as a purse, which makes this a very wise choice for the chick on the go. Why carry two bags when you can carry one? It’s particularly helpful as a carry-on for a trip.

Size: 16″ x 11.25″
Fits: laptops up to 12.78″ x 9.1″ x 1.08″ (Macbooks tend to fit perfectly)
Pockets: 4 inner pockets, both laptop pocket and large compartment lined with water-resistant lining.
Cost: $58

Gift wrap is available just in case you thinking about buying this for me as a birthday gift or “Jenn, you’re so awesome” gift :)
